Dr. Sketchy Montreal Drawings (Oct. Session)
It’s been awhile since I’ve posted drawings from a Dr. Sketchy session.
Last Saturday, I attended the Dr. Sketchy Montreal session with the marvelous Blanche-Neige! (Snow White!)

I love the Halloween-themed sessions! This is one of my favorite holidays, so it was fun for me to draw skulls and scary artefacts.
Here’s a picture taken from the Dr. Sketchy Montreal blog. I love it when we’re in the Mainline main Theater room!
I’m the lady at the top left row with a black t-shirt.
I think we were around 35 to 40 people in that room. It was good drawing fun, indeed!

For this session, I used different techniques: HB pencils…

…markers…

… and a mix of both! ![]()
I loved using the red marker to add some “punch” to my drawings.

This is one of my favorite!
It’s drew with HB pencils in a Canson skethpad with recycled sheets. The original looks a lot better but this scan gives you a good idea.
I sometimes have a tendency to not pay attention to facial details when I draw life models. But on this drawing, I put in some extra efforts to make her look like the model as much as possible.

And the last one but not the least: The Contest Drawing!
At each Dr. Sketchy, they have themed contests and in this one, you had to draw Snow White next to her “Prince Charming”.
This is not a drawing for the faint of hearth, of course!
Yep, I had fun! ![]()
I hope to be able to attend more Dr. Sketchy events this year as part of my artist motivation “To-Do” list. ![]()
How about you? Any creative events you’re planning to go more often to, this year?

My name's

Sounds like a great evening! I'm so jealous that you have these things in Montreal. What a wonderful art opportunity!
That is so cool! Your sketches are fab. ^_^ It looks like this was really fun! I wish we had these sorts of events where I live.
Avital: It's true that we're very lucky, in Montreal. It's such a creative city with lots of opportunities to learn and create.
n nClaire: Thanks for the nice comment.
What's great with Dr. Sketchy, is that you could start one in your city, if you wanted. I organized the one in Montreal for it's first year, but it is a -lot- of work. Now, I'm just happy to support the people who organize it by attending their great events.
